Animal Husbandry: A Balinese Cultural Perspective (1 Semester and and 10 days for each short course)
BACKGROUND
We offer opportunity to those students who have registered in their home university that has had Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Udayana, Bali, Indonesia to take the four courses below both who are doing their Bachelor or Master ’s Degree. The courses offered ranging from minimum of 4 credits (1 Course) to maximum of 16 credits (4 Courses). The delivery of courses will be sharing from first hand both practical and experience in leisure mode. Likewise for further opportunity to conduct research collaborative between the two universities. The Faculty of Animal Husbandry also offers four (4) Short Courses with duration of 10 days for each course. The four Short Courses are exactly as similar as the one semester courses but in shorter durations in Leisure Mod
OBJECTIVES
1. Understand a Balinese cultural perspective in general, particularly socio-cultural sustainability of animal husbandry for promoting animal welfare, environmental protection and providing healthy and safe food.
2. Understand traditional crop-livestock farming in Bali is environment orientated based on the Tri Hita Karana concept, a traditional philosophy for life on the island of Bali for “three causes of wellbeing” or “three reasons for prosperity”.
3. Be able to describe Balinese cultural perspective regarding the Livestock in attraction, Livestock in culinary, Livestock in ceremony, Livestock in conservation, and Livestock in integration farming system
