Balinese Environmental Sustainability (Study Program of Chemistry) (One Semester)
BACKGROUND
This course introduces
how to determine the environmental condition as measured by environmental
parameters, and the Balinese ways to overcome and mitigate pollution. Local
communal and commercial waste treatment facilities and their theoretical
aspects are also described as a conventional technique in the water pollution
mitigation. Bench scale advanced contamination mitigation namely photo
degradation and bioremediation using Balinese natural resources are also given
along with its theoretical background.
OBJECTIVES
1. Mastering the theoretical concepts of the structure of
substances, transformation, and its application
2. Understand the environmental parameters and how to
measure them
3. Apply
logical, critical, systematic, and innovative thinking in the context of developing or implementing science and
technology in accordance with their field of expertise
4. Understand the potential uses of natural resources and
waste materials as pollution removal
5. Show responsibility for work independently in their
field of expertise
6. Have sensitivity and respect on others and the
environmental sustainability
