Medicine in Tropical Disease (Study Program of Pharmacy) (8 weeks)
BACKGROUND
The course emphasize on
experiential learning by immersing students in the clinical and public health
issues in Indonesia, with a focus on emerging infectious tropical diseases and
traveller ’s health. Group sessions will be led by experienced clinical and the
coursematerial will be related to clinical practice. Participants will gain
insight into the practical realities of healthcare in Indonesia.
The course consists of a
combination of didactic lectures, laboratory demonstrations, skills workshops,
and case presentations. Lectures, skills workshops, and demonstrations will
involve the entire group. Clinical rounds will take place daily in small groups
in a variety of settings that include both adult and paediatric patient.
Throughout this course students will be immersed in indoor class, field trip to
hospitals, primary health care settings, and community setting
OBJECTIVES

3. Provide students experience and perform some of the
healthcare in Indonesia
