Prenatal Diagnostic Short Course (Dept. Obstetric & Gynecology) (1 semester)
BACKGROUND
Department of Obstetrics
and Gynaecology Faculty of Medicine Udayana University, offers an advanced
program for obstetricians who are interested in studying high-risk pregnancies,
especially regarding prenatal diagnosis in which cases are increasing, this
short course will last 1 semester (15 weeks) and will be carried out on an
ongoing basis clinical theory and practice in hospitals (polyclinics, emergency
rooms, and delivery rooms) and will be intensively trained by our Maternal
Fetal Medicine (MFM) consultants.
OBJECTIVES
Prenatal Diagnostic Program
to provide expert genetic screening, testing and counselling for parents.
Prenatal diagnosis employs a variety of techniques to determine the health and
condition of an unborn fetus. There are a variety of non-invasive and invasive
techniques available for prenatal diagnosis. Each of them can be applied only
during specific time periods during the pregnancy for greatest utility.
