Sociology and Cultural in Modern Age (Program of Magister) (4-5 Month)
BACKGROUND
The course “Sociology and Culture in Modern age” is dealing with a new understanding of sociology and cultural values under a globalized context. Due to the globalisation, there is the need to create a new insight on social- and cultural interaction and structures to apprehend global power-relationships and the emergence of political systems. Social Science theories will be discussed and compared among each other to create an academic understanding of cohabiting in an internationalized world. It will highlight social dimensions as culture, religion and social classes and how they cohere with economic and political relationships. The course offers a diverse approach, including sociology, psychology and culture to explain the complexity of social-human behaviour in a modern world
OBJECTIVES
Upon completion, students should be able to

1. Understand the evolution of societies and culture, differentiate between different types of societies and cultures
2. Understanding the formation process of societies under a cultural context
3. Understand multiple theoretical approaches of the modern societies
4. Understand cultural models and different dimensions of culture
5. Understand the role of culture within organizations
6. Understand values and norms in a classical and modern sense
7. Cross-cultural management within organisations
8. Analyse social and cultural impact on power-relationships
