Improve the Quality of International Student Services at Udayana University, KUI Holds VISA Perception Equalization and Bridges Cooperation with International Partners University General
The development of internationalization at Udayana University (Udayana University) is getting better from year to year, marked by an increase in the number of students and an increase in foreign partners who collaborate with Udayana University.
To further improve the quality of international services at Udayana University for both foreign students and foreign partners, the Office of International Affairs (KUI) of Udayana University held several meetings with the intention of equalizing perceptions related to foreign student visas and bridging the initiation of cooperation with foreign partners.
The meetings involving the Faculty of Medicine (FK) and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) Unud were held at different places and times with foreign partners in each faculty.
The meeting with FK presented Asianna Oriental Service and Griya Lumbung Sari (GLS) Bali as official partners who take care of visas for foreign students. In this meeting, it was discussed about the right visa index and study permit procedures for foreign students in the Eective Study Program at FK Unud.
The meeting with FMIPA Unud presenting Upskill as an agent of foreign students also discussed similar matters focusing on the visa index used.
Referring to the two meetings, Senja Pratiwi, PhD as the Coordinator of KUI Unud really hopes that foreign partners and faculties will carry out foreign student admission procedures properly and urge to consult with KUI before starting the new semester period. “This admission procedure is very important to be discussed before the arrival of foreign students to Unud because it will have an impact considering that Unud is one of the universities with a large number of foreign students in Indonesia which is much ogled both nationally and internationally” he said.
The meeting with Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) which was held online via the Zoom Meeting application presented the leadership of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) Unud. This meeting was held to discuss proposals for cooperation in the form of student exchanges because there was one Unimas student who was interested in studying for one semester in the Cultural Anthropology study program at FIB Unud. Responding to the proposal from Unimas, the Dean of FIB Unud, I Nyoman Aryawibawa, S.S., M.A., Ph.D., stated that in principle, FIB Unud is happy to accept students from Unimas to study in one of the study programs, namely the Cultural Anthropology study program, where this collaboration is an honor for FIB Unud. During the meeting, both parties agreed to draft a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) which is needed in the administrative process of student exchange activities that will be carried out.
A similar meeting was also held at the Faculty of Law (FH) Unud by presenting the leadership of FH Unud with GLS Bali, where at this meeting discussed the plan to organize a foreign summer course program that would provide knowledge of customary law in Indonesia, especially Bali to foreign students. FH Unud and GLS Bali agreed to sign a cooperation agreement to realize this program to run according to applicable regulations. Both parties are very confident that this program will become a printis in FH for other programs.
