Reaping Success, FTP Unud Again Holds Balinese Traditional Cuisine and Gastronomy in Cooperation with Australian Catholic University. University General

Udayana University (Unud) through the Faculty of Agricultural Technology (FTP) again held Balinese Traditional Cuisine and Gastronomy involving international students from the Australian Catholic University (ACU). This is the second activity after successfully organizing the same activity last year.

The material offered by FTP Unud includes learning in the field of gastronomy and traditional Balinese food. The event was attended by eight students, one ACU lecturer and also invited the manager of the Samsara Living Museum and the manager of the Tea UMKM from Ubud.

Starting the activity held on Wednesday (10/07), the participants were invited to shop at the Badung traditional market to experience shopping and bargaining in the market. The results of their shopping were then used for cooking practice sessions. Before attending the practical session, the participants were introduced to Unud and FTP through a video profile screening at the Office of International Affairs (KUI).

The main event was a practical session held at the FTP Food Lab by providing experience in making a set of Balinese specialties, namely satay lilit, vegetable urab, Balinese meatballs, klepon snacks and laklak snacks. Participants were invited directly to mix spices, twist and handle satay, and arrange food on a serving plate.

Emma Stirling as ACU lecturer highly appreciated and thanked the FTP Unud team for successfully holding this program which gave a positive impression to the participants. She hopes to hold this program every year.
